What the new ticket price means:

Hopefully more of our classmates can afford to come.
The reunion committee will only be able to pull this off with participation - so please come!

Your ticket price covers a lot more than just food at the evening event. Postage for invitations, reservations for the park and hotel, the DJ, prizes, etc. are some additional expenses that the reunion committee has to pay for. No one on the reunion committee is getting paid anything - on the contrary, they have invested their own money and a lot of time to make this fun for everyone.

Please spread the word about the new ticket price and help make our 11 year reunion a success!

Hey Everyone,
You still have until June 7th to RSVP or pay for the reunion, but the way things are looking, we may need to CANCEL the reunion due to lack of interest and/or payments not received. The reunion committee has worked really hard to make this a success, so I hope people will start signing up. I know many people are planning to attend the picnic and not the dinner, but you will now be charged a fee to attend the picnic. If we don't do this, then there will be no money for our future reunions.

No complaining...it just didn't work out this summer. Lets just solve the problem by figuring out how to get it done.

Brooke--what can we do to help you? Give us a list of proposed committees and lets get some volunteers. The more people working on it the less stress for all. Obviously we need to start looking for our classmates now if next summer is the plan.

Yes, it's been Cancelled!

I paid for my tickets to the reunion a few weeks ago and received notice on paypal that the funds had been re-funded on Tuesday.

Brooke said in the attached note she was sorry to cancel, but in order to get better notice out to people she was planning it for next summer.

I feel bad we won't be able to meet up this year, but I hope everyone spreads the word and we can have a really great turn out next year!

I'll be up in Idaho anyway that weekend and it would be great to see anyone who is still in town...if anyone is interested in an 'informal' potluck get together on Saturday, let me know and we may be able to plan something for anyone who's in town.

Ticket prices are being determined for both events at this time to cover all the expenses of the family picnic and the party. There will be a payment option and also an address for those who want to pay by check. All checks will be paid to the order of: Highland HS 1998 Class Reunion Fund.
All this information will be available once e-vites are sent out via classmates.com. As of right now the cost for both events may be around $60-$70 per person... but that is a just a rough guess. I am still talking with the caterer about food choices, and figuring out cost per person, plus additional costs such as the space, decorations, rentals, picnic activities (such as bounce houses, and other activities). Children will be free. Both events will be charged separately, so the picnic may be around $25 per person, and the evening event will be around $35. (All of these numbers may not be accurate, but just to give everyone an idea of what to expect).

I also would appreciate some feedback on how this pricing sounds for everyone?? I do not want people not attending because price of tickets is an issue, but everyone needs to keep in mind that there are costs to throwing a large gathering.

One idea I had that I may need assistance with because I am not living in Poky, is to get sponsors for the party. I know people living in Idaho are more familiar than I am with businesses in town and who is in charge of them. It might be nice to get a few sponsors to donate prizes for raffle drawings, or to let them pay $25-$50 to have a sign with their name on it in the middle of a table. It is just an idea I saw that other reunions do. If anyone is willing to help, let me know, and we can get on it! The Date is Set!!

Hey Class of 98! The date is set for our 10 year reunion! Plan for Saturday August 30th, 2008! There will be a family picnic that afternoon, and an adult only reception that evening. The picnic will be help at Upper Ross Park (times are still pending), and the evening event will be held at the new Rosewood Reception Center.
